On the 10th anniversary of the Iraq war it’s clear Tony Blair knew there
were no “Weapons of Mass Destruction”. Tory support for the war was critical
then so it’s no surprise that David Cameron has now refused a cross party
request, including Green MP Caroline Lucas, for a Parliamentary debate. Or
that William Hague has told Cabinet colleagues not to mention the war. Iraq
was the most damaging foreign policy decision of recent times based on lies
and distorted “facts”. We owe it to all those who have lost their lives in
Iraq to carefully examine what happened and learn lessons from it.
