Sainsbury’s Boycott Action for Palestine, Saturday February 1st

070109palestinedemoThe Boycott Action on Saturday February 1st, 12noon to 1pm will be outside the new Sainsbury’s on the High Street (just below the cathedral on High Street in Sheffield city centre below the Santander Bank and opposite NatWest).

We are calling on Sainsbury’s to stop all trade with companies which operate in illegal Israeli settlements. Sainsbury’s claims to be an ethical company and is proud of its image as a market leader in fair trade. We call on Sainsbury’s to end their indifference to the destruction of Palestinian farming communities and follow the lead of the Co-op, by ending its support for Israeli agricultural settlement trade.

The aim of the action is communication, not blocking shoppers going in. We have opportunities to talk to interested customers and passers buy and are resourced with clear leaflets about settlement goods and effects of the Israeli occupation on Palestinians.
