Councillor Jillian Creasy will attend the protest at Sheffield Magistrates Court tomorrow at 9.15am in support of the two Freedom Riders members appearing in court.
“The Freedom Riders are drawing attention to the need for affordable public transport and the authorities should be meeting them to discuss their demands rather than cracking down in such a heavy handed way. The group consisted of elderly and disabled people, it did not need dozens of police to deal with ticketless travel and a peaceful protest.”
Here Tont Nuttall describes in the Guardian what happened on the protest and the violent manner of his arrest.
