Jillian Creasy presents a Green vision of Healthcare at the London Nurse Show

IMG_1144 LE(1)Dr Jillian Creasy, parliamentary candidate for Sheffield Central and Green Party Spokesperson for Health and Social Care will present Green Party policies on health at the London Nurse Show on Tuesday 31st March.

Jillian, a GP of over 25 years, will put forward an alternative to the privatisation of the NHS and discuss how a holistic approach to wellbeing can reduce pressures on public services.

She will speak on a platform including the Shadow Health Secretary Andy Burnham MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health Dan Poulter MP, and Paul Burstow MP.

Jillian commented “Nurses have been hit harder than other professions in the NHS by austerity. They see at first hand people suffering the effects of poverty and deprivation and being poorly served by a health service which is increasingly designed to serve the market and private companies, not the patient.”

“The whole ethos of public service is being eroded by this government. Nurses tell me that they find it incredibly stressful not having the autonomy, time or resources to respond properly to patients, especially when they themselves are struggling on low pay and poor terms and conditions.“

“The Green Party would restore the NHS to being a better funded, better run, genuinely public service and our wider policies would help create a happier, healthier, and more equal society for all.“

“I am really looking forward to speaking at this event and to hearing from nurses.”
