Election Action

Between us, we can have a big influence on how this country is organised in the future. But that depends on what we do in the next fortnight in the best election opportunity the party has ever had. How would you like to help to make a difference? Here are some things you could do.

Voting Green

Encourage your friends and family to vote Green on 7th May. And don’t forget to vote Green yourself. NB: If you or they won’t be in Sheffield on 7th May, the deadline for applying for a proxy vote is Tuesday 28th April.

Put up a poster

If you haven’t already put up a Vote Green poster in your window, please do. You may have already received one from us. If you haven’t or want another one, e-mail jillian.creasy@greenparty.org.uk . And, if you have a garden in Sheffield that might be a good place to display a Vote Green placard, e-mail the same address.

Social media

Support our Facebook and Twitter activity – see the icons in the main part of this newsletter. Or see Facebook JillianCreasy4MP and Twitter @sheffieldgreens. Plus many more social media addresses for Young Greens, ward groups and candidates.

Talking with voters

Door-knocking wins elections. If you’d like to help knocking on doors, contact Gill Black gillpblack@aol.com 07847 382595. There are canvassing sessions every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, plus most evenings. Election door-knocking is simple and you’ll receive training

Helping on Thurs 7th May

Can you spare a bit of time to help on 7th May (polling day), during the day or in the evening? We need to have lots of volunteers working in Sheffield Central constituency (especially our 2 target areas – Central and Broomhill wards) on a rota basis throughout that day. There will also be a Young Greens team working on getting out student voters. If you can help that day and haven’t already volunteered, please e-mail jillian.creasy@greenparty.org.uk .
