The NHS celebrates its 65th birthday on Friday 5th July. Please join a birthday celebration at
1pm on Friday outside the Hallamshire Hospital. Hopefully, there will be some
cake!
Jon Ashe, local Green Party health spokesperson, commented “The NHS is one
of the most valued institutions in this country. Lots of Sheffield people
will want to celebrate its 65th birthday. We want the NHS to continue as a
key part of the public sector, providing services free at the point of need to everyone who needs
them.”
He added “We’ll continue to campaign against the Government’s attempts to
cut and privatise healthcare services. Large numbers of local people have
shown support for our campaigning.”
This is something we can all agree on. Why is the coalition wasting money on an uncalled for reorganisation that wasn’t in either the Tory or Lib Dem manifesto, but then cutting back on 4,000 Nursing Jobs?
