Sheffield Greens support the “People’s March for the NHS”
Sheffeld Green Party members are playing an active part in the People’s March for the NHS as it passes through Sheffield on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th August. They will be marching with them from Hillsborough Park to Meadowhead and hosting some of the marchers overnight.
Sheffield Green Party chair Jon Ashe commented “The NHS is under threat because of budget cuts and privatisation of services. We congratulate the organisers of this very important march to highlight the health service. Our members will be joining the marchers as they pass through Sheffield and our party is supporting the march along the whole route.”
Sheffield Green councillor, and former GP, Jillian Creasy, who will be speaking at the Town Hall, added “The Green Party fully supports the aims of the 999 Call for the NHS. We have always been against the marketisation and privatisation of this vital public service”.
