Following recent meetings of Rotherham members and supporters, we’re making plans for the May 2015 council elections. Our active campaigning may be largely focused on Wath council ward, with our possible candidate being Ann Roche, who has a strong track record as a community activist in the Wath-upon-Dearne area. We also hope to stand up to 8 candidates in other council wards in 2015, up from just 2 this year.
We think it makes sense to focus our efforts to win council seats in one or two Rotherham wards initially. So it would be great if Rotherham GP members and supporters would help our Wath ward campaign, so as to achieve a good result there.
We’ll try to give you more details before Xmas. In the meantime, please let us know if you’d like to get involved in our Rotherham activity. For example, you could help with admin work, web campaigning or leaflet/newsletter design. And you might like to be a Council election candidate in your home ward – it’s not as scary as you might think.
